Scoryboard is a product collaboration between Pitch Invasion and Twist Open UX. We discovered a dearth of functional platforms for cricket lovers to consume the highlights and live updates of an ongoing cricket match. The lack of immediate accessibility to such information left fans disgruntled.
Twist Open UX along with Pitch Invasion created a dynamic score reporting dashboard that allowed sports enthusiasts to engage with live cricket scores.
We conducted several research interviews with sports fans to understand the heart of the matter. What were the key elements to make reporting a live match a fulfilling experience? Turns out, a sense of engagement was high on that list.
We designed a single screen dashboard comprising of 12 animated tiles that displayed everything from live scores, batting orders to tweets. This created a dynamic interface with tiles that flipped through the course of the match to provide a holistic sports reporting experience.
Scoryboard reimagined the cricket experience for a fan by involving them in the interface updates. We invited people to send in a photograph of their cricket moment in a stadium or on a playing field and we would choose from a collection of photos received from fans. The photograph would be featured as the background of the website along with a mention of the contributor. Our aim was to remind users that they were more than just consumers but part of a much larger group of cricket lovers.
Scoryboard was an exercise in delivering succinct information while evoking the passion for sport. At Twist Open UX, our research paved the way to a business intervention. We created a site that received so much traction that the concept was commissioned for football and formula 1 as well.
